Where do I begin?! My fiance (boyfriend at the time) and I planned a week long vacation at Sueno del Mar for the end of September. We read a lot of reviews stating that that is the green season and to expect a lot of rain. Those reviews couldn't be more wrong. The weather was amazing and we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves as there were very few tourists. We aren't ones to go back to the same place once we've been there--but this place will be our one exception to the rule!

Our first day we walked into Sueno del Mar and were amazed at just how beautiful the condo really is. The pictures on the website are great--but don't do it justice! Harriet has thought of absolutely everything to make your vacation a memorable one. The talavera pottery in the cupboards, the amazing guide she's written herself of all the places and things to see, a fully stocked kitchen with every gadget you could imagine, cd's, the list could go on and on not to mention the bedroom that overlooks the ocean with the sound of the waves crashing on shore--can't imagine a more romantic and surreal place.

We checked out a lot of the surrounding resorts and price aside, this condo is way above anything we saw in terms of beauty and size. Then you add the price and it's an easy choice! Harriet was extremely easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions we had. There were no hidden fees (like you see at many of the resorts nearby) and she promptly sent us our refund check at the end of our stay. My boyfriend at the time emailed her with questions on the best places to propose and she put him in touch with an amazing individual who helped create a proposal that was unlike anything I could possibly have imagined! I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about our overall stay.

I saw a review that mentioned there were ants/bugs in the condo--we did not have that problem at all. There is a housekeeper that comes every 2 days and it is recommended that you leave her a tip but Harriet doesn't charge you to leave one--she leaves it up to you to decide what is appropriate. The condo was exceptional in every aspect including cleanliness.

My fiance and I will absolutely be coming back here again. We're in the process of planning our honeymoon and finding it difficult to locate a place more romantic and amazing than this one! Thank you Harriet for creating such a beautiful and breathtaking place to come and relax!

'Love it here'

This is our third time staying in this condo building and our second time staying in this particular unit. Compared to other rental units in the complex, this one stands out in so many ways.
From the moment you enter, you are transformed to a peaceful and beautiful state of mind. Harriett (the owner) has spared no cost in creating a special environment. The entire unit is painted in a beautiful set of coordinating bright colors and the walls are covered with local paintings and artwork. She has thought of everything.
One of the best features of this condo is the huge open window in the living room with a perfect view of the bay. We spent long mornings enjoying coffee and fruit gazing at the bay. The same for sunset...a glass of wine and a beautiful view before leaving for dinner. In addition, the master suite is huge and well appointed. It too, opens up to a nice patio and a beautiful view of the bay. We traveled with another couple and felt we had enough privacy as the other bedroom is on the other end of the condo.
Harriett will guide you trough this vacation start to finish...ensuring you have a wonderful time with no surprises. There is a thick book full of activities and restaurant ideas. We enjoyed getting off the beaten path and eating locally. It is cheaper and the meals were fantastic!
Mu husband and I have traveled been to Mexico more than a dozen times...staying in everything from condos to all inclusive 5 star resorts. This is our favorite place to be.

'Takes my breath away each time'

This is the third time my husband and I have stayed at Sueno del Mar and it never fails to take-my-breath away each time I walk in the front door. Harriet and Ron present their home to their guests with such amazing love and enthusiasm there is no doubt that they want your experience to embody every reason why they fell in love with Zihuatanejo. Their home is all about the beautiful Mexican archecture and art that takes complete advantage of the sounds of the ocean and jungle and the incredible climate of Mexico. We love this place...can't wait to come back!

Sueno del Mar was the perfect spot to get away from everyday life. From the moment you arrive and open the door you feel like you are in Mexican paradise. The condo was located within a 10 minute walk to the beach "Playa Ropa". A 20 minute walk took you to the town of Zihau and all its restaurants, stores and friendly residents. After a long day of snorkeling or shopping, the pools at the condo were a great place to relax.

The view was outstanding and the location took you out of the hubbub, so it was very relaxing. The infinity pools were a great place to "wind down" after being "out and about". The condo was very comfortable and well equipped with a wonderful view from the living area and master bedroom. The security guards at the entrance were very, very helpful in calling cabs for us, and giving good advice on things to do and places to go. The La Ropa Beach was fantastic with the softest sand. Eating at Elena's, and the place next to it on the beach was very convenient and good and you could sit in their lounge chairs with umbrellas on the beach all day long if you wanted to, with them bringing you beverages all day long. Las Gatas Beach was great for a day of snorkeling and sitting at an open air food spot on their chairs with umbrellas too. We took a water taxi from the downtown pier to get there, but I hear there is one at La Ropa Beach somewhere too. The only downside being at the condo, is the very steep driveway and road to get down to the beach. This can be remedied by calling a cab if you are not comfortable with walking there. Our stay in Zihuatenejo was one of the most relaxing vacations that we have taken and we would go back again some day.

We stayed at Sueno del Mar for one week and wow, was it awesome. We had of course seen pictures of the place, but the pictures just don't do it justice until you actually open the door to the condo and see it first hand. I can't even put into words the view we had from our condo. The condo itself along with the complex was just wonderful! The condo is in the perfect place, we were able to pretty much walk wherever we needed to go (depending on how hot out it was of course --sometimes taking a cab was alot cooler!). The condo had all we needed in it. The master bedroom was beautiful. There is nothing like waking up in the morning, sitting up in bed and starring right out at the ocean, watching cruise ships come into port! I also have to admit that the beds were one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on, which is something that is important to us! I would highly recommend this condo to anyone! When we go back, this will be our place to stay!

Sueno del Mar was even more than we expected from the moment we walked in the door. The view was breathtaking, the furniture and decor was fabulous and the kitchen was equipped better than our home. Harriet's expose' of the area and restaurants were a key part of our enjoyment. We tried several of the restaurants and they all were amazing. Not a day of sickness any of the four of us, the beds were better than most in Mexico and the pools were lovely. We went to Las Gasta for a day and our friends didn't get out of the water. The beach was calm and warm and wonderful. We will definitely be returning next year. Thank you Harriet and Ron for sharing your paradise.

I have traveled on every continent except Australia
and never had a more positive experience than Zihuatanejo, the rooms are perfectly furnished, exceptionally clean, service was outstanding, view was unobstructed and centered on the beautiful bay looking out into the Pacific. The sunsets were worth the trip alone.
The beach is clean and the vendors are very courteous, accepting no and moving on. There are many restaurants with a wide variety of choices in cuisine, so you never have to just settle. The kitchen in your room is well furnished and if you chose to cook for yourself, the local markets are stocked with fresh vegetables etc..

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this fantastic place? My husband and I came to Zihua for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed! I'm going to try to keep this as short as possible!

1. We got a discount because we were just 2 people. Sweet!
2. We stayed at the end of the low season. We had one rain storm one afternoon. Other than that it was hot and gorgeous!
3. The condo is beautiful! Decor, views - all of it!
4. The bed was extremely comfy!
5. Lots to do, or if you prefer, nothing to do. We chose the latter!
6. Great eats nearby.
7. Awesome staff.
8. Did I mention the stunning views?
9. The killer guide that Harriett sends is like the Zihua Bible.
10. Everything is affordable!
11. Low season = NO CROWDS ANYWHERE!
12. Excellent communication with Harriet!
13. The guards are SO NICE!

A few other things....
The condo is at the top of a hill. Anyone who has any sort of issues with that might not enjoy their stay. The ONLY reason I say this is that I saw an older couple (quite senior, actually) struggling in the heat and I felt bad for them. It's the only reason it came to mind though.
We had some issues with the water when we were there, but I believe it was an isolated incident. The issue was resolved quite quickly and in a very friendly manner.
We saw a scorpion by the pool! It was minding it's own business. It did freak us out a little. Harriett mentions them in the guide - just be on the look out. We pointed him out to the gardener and he took care of it.
We saw bats too. Cool. I highly suggest sunset in the infinity pool. Hang out a little longer and watch the bats take flight - amazing! Because there are bats, there are no other bugs that we encountered in the OPEN AIR living room.
Yolanda, the cleaning lady is a joy. She speaks very little English, but it didn't matter.

We ate at Paty's constantly. Yum on the breakfast! The lemonade is sooooo good and I could O.D. on the avocados! We ate next door too, but didn't really like it as much. The servers at Paty's are much friendlier and they don't add in the tip beforehand.

The BEST meal we had was at Banditos. Oh. My. God. It was so good. We did some shopping around there too. We got great bowls and statues. Incredible artwork.

I was the laziest person ever. We actually only went to the beach once. Why go anywhere else when you're the only couple around? We practically had the entire pool area to ourselves for the whole week!

I can't say enough about this place! Harriett, thanks so much for everything - for opening up your home away from home to us. We consider ourselves one lucky couple! Memories for a lifetime!

Gracias!
